Vanilla waffles & pumpkin maple butter

 

  • 1 cup of lukewarm milk
  • 1/4 cup melted and cooled butter
  • 1 1/2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1/2 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons of pearl sugar or crushed sugar cubes
  • Sigewigus maple butter with pumpkin seeds (quantity of your choice)

 

 

Preparation

  1. You will need to use two bowls to make this recipe, first in which you will mix the milk and butter.
  2. In the other bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add the egg and whisk until the batter is lumpy. Gradually pour in the milk mixture while whisking.
  3. Don't be surprised if there are still some lumps of flour; that's normal. Afterwards, cover and let it rest for 12 hours in the refrigerator.

Preparation (cooking)

  1. Preheat the waffle iron. Place 1/2 teaspoon of pearl sugar and about 1/3 cup of batter in each cavity. Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of sugar over each waffle. Close the waffle iron and cook for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the waffles are golden brown.
  2. Serve the warm waffle drizzled with pumpkin maple butter and… enjoy!
